Are You Unhappy With the Size of Your Nipples?

3 Minute Read:

Today, women and men have the ability to easily change things about their bodies they dislike. No one is forced to live with uncomfortable features anymore as plastic surgery progresses as a cultural norm.

If you dislike the size, position, or protrusion of your nipples, nipple reduction surgery is a simple and effective procedure to restore your confidence and improve your breasts’ overall aesthetics.

What Is Nipple Reduction Surgery?

Nipple reduction surgery is a cosmetic procedure that changes the size, shape, and protrusion of the nipples and areolas. Men and women who feel uncomfortable with the appearance of their nipples can benefit from this effective procedure.

Nipple reduction surgery can help with the following issues:

  • Nipples that are long, droopy, and overly prominent
  • Nipples that are asymmetrical or an unappealing shape
  • Puffy nipples
  • Nipples that make it difficult to wear certain clothes
  • Nipples that are disproportionate to the rest of the breast

Nipple reduction surgery may be especially beneficial for women who have been pregnant or breastfed. During pregnancy, nipples typically become larger and darker in color, which may be displeasing to some women. Breastfeeding also can make the nipples more elongated or stretched.

If you are experiencing any of these issues or are uncomfortable with the appearance of your nipples for any reason, nipple reduction surgery can help you feel more confident.

What Goes Into the Nipple Reduction Procedure?

The first step to any cosmetic procedure is the consultation. At this time, you can speak with your board-certified plastic surgeon at DAVinci Plastic Surgery and explain your concerns and goals. Once your surgeon has assessed your nipples and developed a surgical plan, it’s time for surgery!

During the nipple reduction procedure, your surgeon will make small incisions around the areola to remove tissue, change the nipple length and diameter, and improve the nipple for an overall aesthetic enhancement.

If you have asymmetrical nipples, your surgeon may discuss performing the surgery on just one nipple to make it more uniform. Additionally, if your areolas are too puffy, your surgeon can reduce the tissue to minimize this concern.

The results of your nipple reduction surgery will reveal more even, shapely nipples with an appropriate contour. As this is a very specialized procedure, your results will depend on the overall goals you discuss with your surgeon during the consultation.

Can You Combine Nipple Reduction Surgery With Other Procedures?

It is very common to combine your nipple reduction surgery with other cosmetic breast procedures, such as breast augmentation and breast lift surgery.

  • Breast augmentation – Add volume and shape to naturally small breasts or breasts that have lost volume due to weight fluctuations and pregnancy.
  • Breast lift surgery – Address breast sagging and laxity due to aging, pregnancy, or weight loss. If your breasts and nipples are drooping or sagging, combining breast lift surgery with nipple reduction can revitalize your breasts.
  • Breast reduction surgery – Reduce the size of the breast tissue, which can cause pain, skin laxity, and discomfort. Women with disproportionately large or heavy breasts commonly suffer from downward pointing or large nipples, so a combination of these two procedures can enhance the shape, size, and aesthetic of the breasts.

Give Yourself the Gift of Confidence

3 Minute Read:

It is finally the holiday season! With Christmas coming up, you may be trying to figure out what gifts to get the important people in your life, but what about yourself? You deserve to feel confident in all areas of your life. Give yourself the gift of confidence by finally undergoing the plastic surgery procedure you have always wanted. Many procedures work to correct the common insecurities among men and women.

Christmas gifts in boxes sitting under a fir tree.

Use this guide to determine which plastic surgery procedures you will benefit your confidence levels the most this Christmas.

What About Breast Augmentation?

Large, firm breasts are often considered to be a sign of femininity. Women with small breasts often feel self-conscious and unhappy with their breast size. Breast augmentation surgery uses implants to enhance the size and shape of your breasts, giving you the appearance you have always dreamed of. If your unhappiness with your breasts’ size is holding you back, breast augmentation surgery can give you the confidence to achieve anything.

What About Breast Reduction?

If you have naturally large breasts, you understand the struggles that come along with them. Women with overly large breasts often experience chronic body pain and unwanted attention. Additionally, overly large breasts can make you appear bigger in some clothing. By gifting yourself breast reduction surgery for Christmas, you can increase your quality of life by eliminating body pain and allowing yourself to feel confident in all of your favorite clothes.

What About Gynecomastia Surgery?

Gynecomastia is a medical condition where boys and men develop excess breast tissue, giving off the appearance of breasts. For men, the appearance of enlarged breasts can be embarrassing and emasculating. Gynecomastia surgery removes the excess breast tissue in men to provide a more masculine, defined chest. If you suffer from gynecomastia, you have the opportunity to increase your confidence with gynecomastia surgery.

What About Liposuction?

After losing a significant amount of weight, you may notice that the stubborn fat left on your body seems impossible to remove. Some fat is just resistant to diet and exercise, no matter how hard you try. After working hard to lose weight, the leftover fat can be discouraging. You have worked hard to lose all this weight—give yourself liposuction surgery for Christmas to help eliminate stubborn fat, contour your body, and increase your self-confidence.

What About Rhinoplasty?

The nose is directly in the middle of your face. This is frustrating for people who are insecure and unhappy with the size of their nose because there is no way to hide it. Rhinoplasty surgery can help you feel confident with your facial appearance by resizing and reshaping the nose. If you are insecure about your nose, start the new year right by giving yourself rhinoplasty surgery as a Christmas gift.

Hope for Beautiful Tuberous Breast Correction

Breast SIZE isn’t the only concern women have when assessing their satisfaction with their breasts. Other factors are the width between breasts, torso positioning (drooping), symmetry between the breasts, and breast shape. How these breast features are perceived determines satisfaction, confidence, and feelings of femininity and sexuality.

Tuberous breasts, also known as constricted breasts, are a congenital (from birth) condition that affects all of these physical characteristics:

  • ptosis (drooping)
  • symmetry
  • breast shape
  • nipple and areola shape

This difference in breast formation becomes apparent at the earliest stages of breast development during puberty. Fortunately, once breast development is complete, the dissatisfaction with tuberous breasts can be corrected through well experienced hands via a specialized Breast Augmentation, though the procedure is much more complicated.

What Are Tuberous Breasts?

Normally, tuberous breasts are small, a result of underdevelopment called Breast Hypoplasia, however this isn’t the extent of desired correction. Correcting tuberous breasts usually requires addressing the size, shape, symmetry and placement. These factors stem from such issues as related to connective breast tissue, such as breast constriction, breast skin deficiency, bulging areola (areolar herniation), and or malposition of the crease beneath the breast (inframammary fold). These factors usually differ for each breast, as tuberous breast asymmetry is the norm.

Treatment for Tuberous Breasts

The correction for tuberous breasts can generally be considered a Breast Augmentation, but not in the strict definition, since what is needed involves much more. This process requires a series of specialized technical procedures since there is a wide variance from breast to breast. Generally correcting tuberous breasts will necessitate breast reshaping, areola balancing and in most cases, size augmentation to compensate for Breast Hypoplasia and asymmetry.

These are the decisions that will be determined by the patient’s preferences and the severity of the constriction causing the tuberous breasts:

  1. The incision location to address breast constriction (usually a technique called “radial scoring”) & ptosis (corrected by breast lift), insert the implant (if applicable), and correct areolar herniation
  2. The type of breast implant (saline or silicone)
  3. The placement of the implant above (subglandular) or below the chest muscle (submuscular). Submuscular is usually what is needed in the case of correcting tuberous breasts. There is also a specific kind of submuscular augmentation to compensate for the often lacking of fullness in the lower breast gland.
  4. Only in more extreme correction cases would a 2 stage surgical approach be required to gradually stretch the skin and breast tissue before the final implant insertion.

This nuanced procedure requires the most expert of hands to meticulously address all the facets of correction. There is hope for beautiful results in the skilled hands of triple board certified surgeon, such as myself. Please contact us to talk about how we can help you, www.davinciplastic.com.

All About The Breasts: Surprising Facts, part 2

The more you learn about your breasts the better you can care for them and appreciate them. Here are some more fun facts to help you know more about your girls.

Side sleeping is best for breast shape. They even could use some pillow support while you sleep. This is just another reason that belly sleeping isn’t best for your body.

Breasts can be a breeding ground for bacteria. This happens because sweat can collect and the abundant oil glands above and between your breasts to make the area vulnerable to clogged pores and pimples. Prevent problems by wiping the area right after workouts or if you’ve been outside sweating a lot, and never staying long in sweaty bras because they can harbor bacteria that love dark, damp places.

They have growth potential through your early to mid 20s. This is especially important for younger women when considering breast augmentation. Though most breast growth does happen through the puberty years, they do continue to grow into early adulthood. How big they do get is actually determined by genetics from both parents. After the mid 20s, it’s unlikely for them to grow unless you gain weight, get pregnant, breastfeed (however they will go back down afterwards) or sometimes with birth control.

Nipples usually get darker during pregnancy. The body does this because it is anticipating breastfeeding the baby, which can better see darker colors. The darker nipple makes it a more visible target. No reason to freak out though, most women’s nipples lighten back to normal a little while after baby is born, while some may stay just slightly darker.

The creation of cleavage isn’t just based on breast size. While the larger ladies do have a cleavage creating advantage, breast shape and location on the torso also come into play. This means that the same cup size can vary in their ability to create cleavage. If the breasts are fuller in the outer breast or positioned wider apart, cleavage may not come as readily. A narrow torso, breasts set closer together or fuller in the center have an easier time creating cleavage.

Exercise can’t increase breast size, but the right ones can help their appearance. Breasts aren’t made of muscle, but they’re resting on top of muscle. These exercises can help firm up the pectoral muscles, which can slightly perk up the breasts: pushups, bench presses, dumb bell flies, medicine ball slams or pullovers. If this doesn’t provide enough of the lift and firmness you’re looking for, a Breast Lift can definitely enhance the positioning and perkiness of the breast.

If you’re considering any cosmetic surgery related to the breasts, it’s worthwhile to talk to an expert in this area. As a triple board certified plastic surgeon, I’ve had extensive training and expertise in all areas of Breast Augmentation and Reconstruction. All About The Breasts: Surprising Facts, part 1

Your precious pair can surely be assets of enjoyment and wonder. Hopefully, you’ll have your set for life, so it’s a great idea to get to know them more. Here are some facts about your bosom buddies that may be surprising.

Breasts have their own monthly cycle so there is a better time of the month to schedule your breast exam. Fluctuating hormones cause changes in breast tissue. Level hormones in the week after your period help even out any lumpiness or swelling, which makes it easier to diagnose any abnormalities. They’re also less sensitive, making the exam more comfortable.

You should be using anti aging cream on your breasts. Breasts consist of fat, milk glands and firm, connective tissue called collagen. As we age the glands shrink, collagen decreases and fat may increase. Along with gravity, this results in the drooping over time. It doesn’t help that the skin of the breasts is quite thin. This means that you shouldn’t neglect to moisturize your breasts and nipples and event can use collagen building creams to help keep the skin supple.

They weigh less than you think, but still need support. Surprisingly, with an A cup size, you’ve got about a half pound of weight all together in your breasts, a pound total for B cups, C cups add up to about a pound and a half, and about 2 pounds total for D. Even though it doesn’t sound like a lot of weight, the thin skin and loss of collagen with age, mean that it’s best to help your girls with supporting them with a bra, especially during exercise.

Nipple hair is completely normal. It’s very common to have 2 to 20 nipple hairs on each breast. Heritage, skin and hair darkness, and hormonal stages play a big part in how much hair each woman deals with. Generally, darker skin and hair on the head means more nipple hair. To remove them, waxing and plucking is completely fine, just be sure to clean the area before and after to prevent infection.

They come in different sizes, shapes and directions even on the same person. No one is completely symmetrical with any part of their body. Most women actually have their left breast with a little more tissue so it’s slightly larger. Also, nipples point in different directions and come in varying shapes and sizes.

Breast implants are more common than you may think because they can look more natural than you may realize. The statistics say that about 250,000 women get them every year and estimates are that currently 2 million women have them. While the extreme makeover cases get the most attention, most women simply wanting to go back to their before children breasts or just making slight improvements, with just a 2 cup size increase on average.

Manly Chest for Guys to Look Their Best…

Despite more emphasis on female breast augmentation, Male Breast Reduction Surgery is a sensitive yet important issue to help boost the self image of many men. About 40 to 60 percent of all men have some degree of Gynecomastia, or womanly breasts. Male Breast Reduction Surgery can restore a sense of manliness and confidence, especially coming into the spring and summer swimsuit seasons.

CAUSES OF GYNECOMASTIA…This common condition usually begins in adolescence. Some possible causes include:
Puberty
Obesity
Klinefelter’s Syndrome
Gilbert’s Syndrome
Aging
problems with testicular hormone production
prescription medications
anabolic steroids
impaired liver function

SAY GOODBYE TO GYNECOMASTIA… Social angst about the feminine appearance of your upper body can be replaced with confidence with a flatter and firmer chest area. Male Breast Reduction surgery removes fat, glandular tissue, and excess skin to create a masculine chest contour. Creating a natural looking, manly chest area is an art in the hands of an expert, triple board certified surgeon like myself.

STEPS OF MALE BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY…After our consultation to discuss your desired outcome and all that encompasses Male Breast Reduction, the surgical date will be set. Usually this surgery is performed in our state of the art surgical center…equipped with the most advanced technology and surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia.

What to expect:

If liposuction is used, I will make a tiny incision, or a larger incision if excision (scalpel) removal is required.
The incisions will be made on the edge of the areola or in the armpit. Your scars are inconspicuous.
Once the fat is liposuctioned or excised, excess skin will be removed.
The chest is then sculpted into a masculine appearance.

RECOVERY FROM MALE BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY… Final results are enjoyed after all swelling resolves in about 3 months. In the mean time, as with most any surgery, you will experience some swelling, bruising and discomfort, although this is short in duration. During the 2 to 3 days after surgery, the major part of these symptoms will subside and are easily mitigated with oral pain medication. It is even common for men return to work within 1 to 2 days after surgery, as long as the job doesn’t require heavy lifting. For the best recovery results, you will need to avoid:

-sexual activity for about 1 to 2 weeks following surgery
-heavy exercise for about 3 weeks
-job or physical activity that could cause a blow to the chest
-sun exposure to prevent darkening the scars

For most men, the upper body, including the chest is a major contributor to their feelings of masculinity. This surgery can have a significant, permanent effect not only physically, but emotionally in regards to self confidence and performance.

Get your firm, flat manly chest in time for the swimsuit season by scheduling a consultation today. Visit www.davinciplastic.com.

ALL ABOUT THAT BREAST…Today’s Breast Procedures

All About That Breast

While most of America and the world have been bopping their heads to the pop music hit “All about that bass” by Meghan Trainor, there have been so many parodies of the song that have some funny twists to the lyrics. Many of us have seen that family who did the Thanksgiving parody called “All about that baste”, as in basting the Thanksgiving Turkey.  All this got me thinking about another twist on the song that I should write called “All about that breast”… well not really. You won’t hear any musical lyrics coming from me any time soon, but that is the topic of this week’s blog.

BREAST AUGMENTATION IS THE MOST PERFORMED SURGICAL PROCEDURE… Behind breast augmentation is nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, liposuction, and then the facelift. Why do you think that breast augmentation is number one? Well, here are a few of the most common reasons it appeals to women of all ages, shapes and sizes:

  • More harmony of proportion, balance and symmetry
  • Enhanced size, shape & projection of your breasts
  • Improved self-esteem & confidence
  • More youthful looking
  • Immediate and long-lasting, natural looking results
  • Overall satisfaction with body image when looking into the mirror
  • Better fashion choices…wear the styles you really love
  • Getting the breasts you’ve lost over time or from having children/breastfeeding
  • Getting the breasts you’ve always wanted, but never had
  • Large variety of new, advanced, and more natural implants

WHAT IS BREAST AUGMENTATION…
While there are other surgical procedures to reduce breast size and to lift them, BREAST AUGMENTATION is a surgery to enlarge the breasts. Using saline (salt water) or silicone implants in the breasts can lead to a more flattering figure that is youthfully proportionate. They will continue to age with your body, but BREAST AUGMENTATION can take off many years from the process and have long lasting youthful effects.

WHAT DOES THE SURGERY INVOLVE…Technology has advanced significantly, over the last few years, to improve the procedure and long term safety of the implants. During the surgery, general anesthesia ensures your total comfort.

There are some choices with the incision location (under breast line, armpit, belly button, areola) and where the implant can be placed (above or below the pectoral muscle). We will decide on the best options for the results you’re looking for during our consultations leading up to surgery.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTERWARDS… Moderate discomfort (achiness) is normal following a breast procedure, but is easily managed with oral pain medication. You’ll have some aching for a few days and will be limited in your lifting and some movements in order to rest for optimal healing.

Let’s talk about creating the breasts that are best for you. Visit www.Davinciplastic.com and schedule a consultation today.

AVOID FAKE LOOKING BREASTS…

This is the time of year women line up to get breast augmentations in order to look great for beach season or… to restore a more youthful look lost while aging, or to get back a pre baby body…and for many other reasons.  One common concern always prevails and that is the desire for the most natural looking results possible.

IMPLANT LINGO…Avoiding a “fake” look is a top concern today because many women innocently have breast procedures done by doctors who are not always qualified to perform them, or who lack the knowledge base needed to guide patients into the right procedures using the right implants or they have little to no experience, and also by others who simply can’t get the job done right for various other reasons. Board Certification and specialized procedural training helps to avoid these sad situations. Here’s the “lingo” or critical elements in breast augmentations:

shutterstock_56659141

  • SHAPE…implants come in round or teardrop shapes.  Round implants create more cleavage and fullness, while teardrop or stable form implants are shaped like natural breasts and they slope downward.
  • PROJECTION/PROFILE…Projection is the distance the implant protrudes outward from the chest.  Wider chests require minimal projection while moderate projection is best suited to narrow bodies and maximum projection offers the most fullness.
  • TEXTURE…Textured implants are firmer than smooth ones and may not look or feel as natural depending upon patient preference.
  • VOLUME…is how full an implant is. A natural look, using implants, may involve compromise on size.  Too much volume has different effects on different people.
  • PLACEMENT…Implants can be placed over or under the chest muscle.  Each placement has it’s virtues and should be well discussed with your surgeon before deciding on placement.

YOUNGER vs MATURE PATIENTS...Younger people today want more volume and “bigger sized” breasts while the more mature population wants to look “proportionate” but filled out (not larger) to overcome the ravages of aging.  But they all want this one thing:  an attractive size and pretty shape and position without looking “fake.” Nobody wants to look like they have “implants.”  The right surgeon helping you make the right choices at the right times can avoid the dead giveaways so common with fake looking implant jobs.

NATURAL LOOKING vs FAKE LOOKING AUGMENTATIONS:  Some breast augmentations are so good that you can’t tell they’re not the breasts you were born with (natural) while others are obvious from far off, and you know these are not natural.  There are 10 giveaways that tip people off to real vs fake breasts.  They are:

  1. Breasts are too close together.  Real breasts do not touch each other all the time unless you’re wearing a bra or tight top.  Natural breasts have a normal space between them.
  2. Breasts sit too high on the chest.  The top of the breast should start at the armpit. If they sit higher than this…they are probably fake.  High profile implants have a more pronounced look than their moderate counterparts or low profile implants.
  3. Breasts are too round…are a dead giveaway! Breasts should more resemble pears than round watermelons.
  4. NO natural slope…are a sign of large, round implants. Natural breasts always slope downward.
  5. GAP that keeps the breasts too far apart.  This indicates implants that are too large or are placed in a pocket that is too small causing the area between the breasts to look wide and bony.

Well, there are more (5) and other “need to know” information I’ll share with you in my next couple blogs.  But I have patients waiting for their personal consultations.  You guessed it….they want Breast Augmentations or Reductions or Breast Lifts with Implants etc.

TOP MYTHS about TOP BODY REFINING PROCEDURES…

shutterstock_50309701FLAT, TIGHT, TONED, FLAB FREE…what ever your goal is for your body sculpting treatments, especially for the midsection, knowing what really works and what is not so effective makes a big difference.  There are always “myths” attached to popular procedures whether they are surgical or non surgical.  I want to cover a few of those in this blog to empower your mission in Body Sculpting, Refining, Reshaping…or whatever it may be.  Hands Down the best way to achieve a flat, toned tummy is with a surgical Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty).  Read on!

TOP TUMMY MYTHS:  1)  A Tummy Tuck can make you constipated.  Wrong!  TRUTH: When done properly, a tummy tuck should have no bearing on your digestive tract since no incisions are made near the digestive system.  The only time problems arise is if a large hernia exists in a nearby space.  If so, it should be addressed.  There is always potential for some swelling in the stomach that could temporarily affect the bowels but in most cases, after healing is complete and you are no longer wearing a compression garment, no problems should exist.   2) You can’t have a Tummy Tuck right after a C Section.  TRUTH:  You should never have a Tummy Tuck right after delivery since time is needed for swelling to resolve and extra weight to be lost.  “Too posh to push” was coined when Hollywood celebrities were electing to have C Section deliveries combined with immediate Tummy Tuck surgery.  Bad Idea!  Both surgeries are invasive and require healing time.  Also, during breast feeding hormone levels are elevated and most new moms have water weight to deal with.  Tummy Tuck surgery should be done about six months post delivery.  3)  During a Tummy Tuck the belly button is removed and a brand new one is made.  Wrong!  TRUTH:  The belly button is never removed during a Tummy Tuck, only the loose, excess skin around it is removed (excised). The belly button is attached to a “stalk” that goes deep into the stomach and cannot be removed.  The belly button may be reshaped and repositioned as excess skin is removed.  In this case, the belly button is simply pulled up through the skin once the tummy has been reshaped and excess skin and fat removed and tightening is done.  It’s the original belly button you were born with attached to the tissue stalk you were given in utero.  www.davinciplastic.com.

shutterstock_45617737TOP BREAST MYTHS:  1)  A Breast Lift is the only way to lift the breasts.  Wrong!  TRUTH:  Implants are often used if your skin is in good shape and sagging is minimal. The right implants offer a nice lift, increased breast volume and reshaping.  Surgery is needed when muscles and skin are too relaxed and stretched. Then surgery can tighten and lift muscles to where they belong, excess sagging skin can be removed and the breast lifted to a naturally beautiful position.  2)  After a breast lift, your breasts will stay perky and in a high position forever.  Wrong!  TRUTH:  Nothing is forever and just like the rest of your body, the breasts continue to age and settle even after a surgical breast lift.  However, the breast lift keeps you looking years younger.  3)  Fat Transfers to the breasts makes your breasts immune to weight changes.  Wrong!  TRUTH:  Just like the rest of your body,  the breast weight can fluctuate for life.

WHAT AGE IS TOO OLD for COSMETIC PROCEDURES?  The better question is:  When is it too late?  Sadly many people wait too long and then require invasive procedures…if they had started when younger…NON INVASIVE would work to minimize the visual effects of aging.  More on that in future blogs.

Celebrities, Careers, Body Sculpting and the Lipstick Effect

shutterstock_54896854Body Sculpting is so popular among today’s Boomers, GenXer’s and Millennials.  Social media plays a leading role in driving patients of all ages into surgeon’s offices for invasive and non invasive procedures to sculpt and refine the body of their dreams.  Social Media, FaceBook being a primary source, has proven to dramatically influence people of all ages and from all income levels to have FaceLifts, Chin Augmentations, Nose Jobs, Eyelid/Forehead Lifts, Breast procedures, Arm Lifts, Tummy Tucks…and many more.  See my previous blogs on Body Sculpting for details on what’s involved in Body Refinement and Contouring.

Looking Good on Facebook Spikes a Rise in Plastic Surgery Requests:  Social media is about seeing and being seen. A survey of 752 surgeons revealed a 31% increase in plastic surgery requests from people wanting to look better on Social Media.  Procedures most requested were:  Botox, Rhinoplasty, FaceLifts, ArmLifts (Brachiaplasty) and Breast Augmentation.

shutterstock_88823152-1EXECUTIVES, CAREERS and PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURES…We live in a very visual world today and this affects even careers.  A colleague of mine, from Manhattan, sees a lot of men and women executives and high profile individuals who are in the public eye constantly.  Their pictures are taken constantly…and they are expected to always look good!  YouTube, Facebook, HD Television and public appearances demand they look their absolute best.  These people previously focused mainly on the face…but now are into Body Sculpting as well. They get paid more to look great!

CELEBRITIES CHOICES INFLUENCE US!  We learned from the “Celebs” how to defy aging by employing anti aging treatments. The key is to start early (at the first sign of tiny facial lines, etc.) and to always maintain in order to always look about 10 years younger.  A few of today’s celebrities have heavily influenced how people want to look.

·      Kate Middleton’s Nose is the nose of choice among the World’s female population

·      Cheryl Cole’s Dimples…well those are hard to copy

·      Robert Pattison’s jaw is the envy of scores of men

·      Brit Jude Law has the most requested nose for men

·      First Lady Michelle Obama has the most admired arms causing a spike in requests for Upper Arm Lifts (Brachiaplasty)

·      And the list goes on………….

SCULPTED BODIES and the LIPSTICK EFFECT…The economy today has also driven people in for cosmetic procedures.  We have developed a “collective vanity” per some analysts, but not  according to the younger generations today who consider looking good to be important to overall good health.  In fact,  they budget for cosmetic procedures as part of their health regimen. So they come for FaceLifts and Body Sculpting regularly.  Those who cannot afford those options choose less expensive anti aging treatments such as Botox, Injectable Fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and others to reduce the visuals of aging.  This is called the “Lipstick Effect.”  We cut back on big ticket spending and opt for the “injection effect” to stave off surgery a bit longer and to allow the economy to improve.  We also indulge a bit and buy that cologne, perfume or special lipstick we’ve been wanting!

MOST POPULAR BODY CONTOURING/REFINING OPTIONS: Liposuction, Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty), Lower Body Lift, Mommy Makeover, Daddy DoOver, Thigh Lift, Cellulite Treatments, Buttock Augmentation, Rhinoplasty (Nose Jobs) FaceLifts, Brest Augmentation, Breast Reduction, Breast Lift, Labiaplasty (FemGen for V Zone Rejuvenation)…and more.  See my website: www.davinciplastic.com.

Well, Winter is still blasting away…but Spring will come!  Are you ready for all the events?  Bikini…Beach Season will be here soon.

ZONING in on BODY SCULPTING and ABS YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED!

BODY SCULPTING is one of the “top” most requested procedures. Patients want surgeons to redefine, refine, reshape and contour their bodies to be more aesthetically pleasing.  Call it lipoplasty, suction lipectomy, liposculpting, body sculpting or contouring, it is safer and more effective than ever using today’s advanced, refined technology and an experienced surgeon.

WHO GETS BODY SCULPTING?  Men and women who are tired of bulges that won’t budge are having their bodies refined and reshaped!  One main reason are those annoying, frustrating bulges that limit clothing options and preventing the fit and trim body of your dreams!

BODY SCULPTING is an ideal complimentary surgical technique to various others like facelifts to body lifts.  It is the most common method of body sculpting used because it works so very well and we can now target both very large and very localized, hard to reach areas.  Liposuction is the Gold Standard for body sculpting, it is refined and here to stay.

ZONING IN ON the BODY   Common target areas include: the abdomen and hips, breasts, thighs, back, bra line, face, neck and chin and buttocks.  Men and women of all ages and stages target these areas, but Gen Xer’s and Millennials are especially into body cosmetics for health and career reasons as well as to retain more youthfulness throughout their aging process.  Mature Adults (many couples) are redefining their bodies in order to age more beautifully/handsomely.

BEACH BODIES …if you want one you must start now.  Tummy Tuck is in high demand this time of year so women (new mommies and grand mommies) can look their best and feel great about looking great!  Men, if you want the “six packs”…let’s do it now.

ABDOMINOPLASTY (Tummy Tuck) is the “Gold Standard” for rejuvenating the abdomen.  It is the surgery of choice for men and women who want to be rid of excess fat and bulging abdominal skin.  So Tummy Tuck is done to restore proper firmness and contour to the abdomen. Abdominoplasty eliminates unsightly bulges and restores fitness and health to your tummy. Look at the benefits:

·      Tummy Tuck removes excess bulging fat and sagging skin

·      Tightens relaxed ab muscles

·      Results in a smoother, flatter, abdomen

·      Often relieves back back/discomfort

·      Involves liposuction for fat removal and sculpting the abs

·      Can be a Full Abdomino, a Mini, a Marriage Abdominoplasty

·      Often combined with other body refining/sculpting procedures

·      Abdominoplasty is recommended when lipo sculpting alone is not enough

Abdominoplasty is just one example of a surgical method of body refining, contouring, reshaping that is part of the overall “body sculpting” process.  Others are listed above.  See my website for info on Tummy Tuck: www.davinciplastic.com.

TANNING BEDS….ARE IRREFUTEABLY DANGEROUS!   The AADA (American Academy of Dermatology) has encouraged the FDA to ban indoor tanning devices because they emit ultraviolet radiation proven to cause skin cancer, including melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.  The science results are in, the numbers don’t lie and girls as young as 15 are presenting in doctor’s offices with skin cancers.  These girls all use tanning devices.

Hope you and your loved ones are healthy, happy and putting your best self forward!

The Perfect Body and Cultural Perceptions

shutterstock_76782826For Americans the “perfect body” includes big breasts, a small waist, a sexy butt and being fat free…for men and women. Europeans are obsessed with being dimple free…no cellulite period!  Asians prefer smaller breasts and butts but demand long, slim legs. Brazilians gave us the Brazilian ButtLift…curvy buttocks and also voluptuous Big Breasts. Perceptions vary between countries.

US CLOTHING and SOCIETY influences the plastic surgery trend. 1)  Cleavage baring tops (shirts, blouses etc) are a primary factor in breast surgeries.  2) Curvaceous butts thighs sought by American celebrities forced the surge in “Brazilian Butt Lifts”.  First Lady Michelle Obama’s Arm Lift became an inspiration for women of all colors to get their arms toned and in shape with Arm Lift surgery.

TOP SURGERIES WORLDWIDE  Breast Implants,  Leg Refining ProceduresButt AugmentationsCellulite reduction.  In 2011, Mexico led the charge among the top 5 countries worldwide with 800,000 cosmetic procedures.  America led the way with the obsession for “bigger is better” breasts and the most Breast Augmentations (Http://www.davinciplastic.com.).  Younger women want more on top while mature women and post pregnancy Moms want restored fullness.  The Best Butt for American Jeans is  the Braziliain Butt Lift and their trend for a perfectly proportioned backside with curves in all the right places!  American women love it and proved it with a 60% increase in Butt Augmentations during 2012, using their own body fat and Implants to achieve the right size and shape buttocks.

PERFECT BODY... Americans are obsessed with the breasts and being fat free..a narrow waist.  Breast Augmentations, Liposuction with Fat Grafting/Transplanting and Butt Augmentations have been the top choices for a few years now.  Men are also into sexier, fuller butts and get Butt Augmentations to fill out their pants.

EUROPEAN OBSESSIONS are about “NO CELLULITE…Period!”  All Europeans want to be dimple free with a natural looking body that looks as if it could be had easily with a healthy diet and a steady workout regimen. Many of the world’s top cosmetic procedures are born in Europe and after being proven they migrate to other places like the US.

ASIANS SEEK SLIM, TRIM, PETITE AESTHETICS   South Korea ranks #7 for women having plastic surgery before age 50, during 2011.  Their #1 obsession is super skinny, bulk free legs (Radish Legs). They clamor for long slim calves void of heavy looking muscles.  Small Breasts is their other ideal.  If they choose breast enlargement, they want only miniscule increase in size.  Breast implants, however are seeing a major advancement in Japan for reconstructive surgeries, a challenge that Japanese surgeons are overcoming as they get up to speed on the products and procedures.

BRAZILIAN SHAPE = CURVY + VOLUPTUOUS…Brazil’s #1 obsession is Full Perky Breasts and perfectly round buttocks.  They are obsessed with plastic surgery to make sure they have curves in all the right places by having Butt implants and fat augmentation  as well as large breast implants and breast lifts.  Many Brazilian women are naturally blessed with all the curves they desire, but plastic surgery is a major trend for those who are not so blessed.  My website educates you on all these procedures and many more that I offer: https://www.davinciplastic.com.
