Does SculpSure® Give You the Same Results as Liposuction?

4 Minute Read:

One of the most common cosmetic frustrations that brings both men and women to plastic surgery offices is having excess fat in localized areas of their bodies. These men and women may desire a slimmer, more toned appearance but have found that the natural method of diet and exercise just isn’t working.

That’s because some fat is resistant to these methods. This stubborn fat remains in the body, no matter what you do…unless you have the help of cosmetic procedures.

While liposuction is one of the most trusted body contouring cosmetic procedures, with over 210,000 liposuction surgeries performed in 2020, many patients are hesitant to undergo a surgical procedure that involves anesthesia, incisions, and recovery time.

That’s why many men and women consider non-surgical body contouring procedures like SculpSure®.

But are these non-surgical options as good as liposuction?

Below, we’ll explore this question along with taking a look at how these procedures are performed.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction surgery is one of the most versatile cosmetic surgical procedures available. That’s because it can be performed as a standalone procedure or as part of other procedures, such as tummy tuck surgery (abdominoplasty), buttock augmentation (Brazilian Butt Lift), and Mommy Makeover surgery

For liposuction, Dr. Davison or Dr. Pinell will make a small incision in the treatment area. Then, a thin tube called a cannula will be inserted through the incision to loosen the subcutaneous fat

Once the fat is loosened, it is vacuumed/suctioned out of your body through the cannula. And the best part is that these fat cells are gone for good, allowing you to enjoy your trimmed and toned results.

What Is SculpSure®?

SculpSure® is a non-invasive treatment that is designed to get rid of subcutaneous fat in your abdomen and/or love handles with the use of laser energy.

For your procedure, the SculpSure® applicator will be applied to the skin in the treatment areas. Laser energy is then delivered through the skin to heat and essentially melt the targeted fat cells without affecting any of the surrounding skin or tissue.

Over the next several weeks, your body will eliminate these destroyed fat cells to leave you with a more toned look and feel.

The Pros and Cons of Each…

Liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most performed procedures for a reason. The results obtained from liposuction are dramatic.

However, it is important to understand that this procedure does require surgery (even though it is not the most invasive plastic surgery option), which means that you will be given anesthesia, small incisions will be made, small scars may be left, and downtime will be required.

SculpSure®

With SculpSure®, you do not need to worry about surgery, since there are no incisions being made. And because of this, you can enjoy your results with little to no recovery time. This means that you can get back to work and your normal, daily activities in no time.

However, patients usually require two to four SculpSure® treatment sessions before they see optimal results.

So, Which Procedure Is Better?

You can achieve a thinner, more contoured aesthetic with both of these procedures, which can make you look more youthful and can improve your confidence and self-esteem.

After either of these procedures, you can look forward to wearing the clothes you’ve always wanted but never had the figure to wear, and you can find yourself feeling more comfortable in social situations (especially at the beach or pool).

However, it needs to be understood that while SculpSure® offers stunning results, these results cannot truly match the results that can be achieved with liposuction. And it is because of liposuction’s invasive method that this is the case.

Your plastic surgeon is able to remove more fat with liposuction than they are with SculpSure®. And liposuction can be used on numerous areas of the body, where SculpSure® is limited to the midsection.

With that being said, SculpSure® can be the best option for qualifying men and women who are looking for a less extensive procedure to help them look and feel their best.

Ultimately, if you are looking to contour your body with either of these procedures, you need to think about your aesthetic goals and what you feel comfortable having performed.

At your body contouring consultation, your plastic surgeon will be able to help discuss the benefits and drawbacks of each of these options as they apply directly to you to help you decide which procedure is best for you.

Give Yourself the Gift of Confidence

3 Minute Read:

It is finally the holiday season! With Christmas coming up, you may be trying to figure out what gifts to get the important people in your life, but what about yourself? You deserve to feel confident in all areas of your life. Give yourself the gift of confidence by finally undergoing the plastic surgery procedure you have always wanted. Many procedures work to correct the common insecurities among men and women.

Christmas gifts in boxes sitting under a fir tree.

Use this guide to determine which plastic surgery procedures you will benefit your confidence levels the most this Christmas.

What About Breast Augmentation?

Large, firm breasts are often considered to be a sign of femininity. Women with small breasts often feel self-conscious and unhappy with their breast size. Breast augmentation surgery uses implants to enhance the size and shape of your breasts, giving you the appearance you have always dreamed of. If your unhappiness with your breasts’ size is holding you back, breast augmentation surgery can give you the confidence to achieve anything.

What About Breast Reduction?

If you have naturally large breasts, you understand the struggles that come along with them. Women with overly large breasts often experience chronic body pain and unwanted attention. Additionally, overly large breasts can make you appear bigger in some clothing. By gifting yourself breast reduction surgery for Christmas, you can increase your quality of life by eliminating body pain and allowing yourself to feel confident in all of your favorite clothes.

What About Gynecomastia Surgery?

Gynecomastia is a medical condition where boys and men develop excess breast tissue, giving off the appearance of breasts. For men, the appearance of enlarged breasts can be embarrassing and emasculating. Gynecomastia surgery removes the excess breast tissue in men to provide a more masculine, defined chest. If you suffer from gynecomastia, you have the opportunity to increase your confidence with gynecomastia surgery.

What About Liposuction?

After losing a significant amount of weight, you may notice that the stubborn fat left on your body seems impossible to remove. Some fat is just resistant to diet and exercise, no matter how hard you try. After working hard to lose weight, the leftover fat can be discouraging. You have worked hard to lose all this weight—give yourself liposuction surgery for Christmas to help eliminate stubborn fat, contour your body, and increase your self-confidence.

What About Rhinoplasty?

The nose is directly in the middle of your face. This is frustrating for people who are insecure and unhappy with the size of their nose because there is no way to hide it. Rhinoplasty surgery can help you feel confident with your facial appearance by resizing and reshaping the nose. If you are insecure about your nose, start the new year right by giving yourself rhinoplasty surgery as a Christmas gift.

Introduction to Dr. Ximena Pinell

We have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Pinell for a little while now and I realized that I have yet to sing her praises on the blog. She is a wonderful addition to Davinci Plastic. I’m so grateful that she is a key part of the team for helping patients with their aesthetic and reconstructive needs. Dr. Pinell has breadth and depth of knowledge, skilled hands, and a huge heart.

Head

Dr. Pinell completed medical school at Emory University and remained there for General Surgery residency and a subsequent fellowship in Plastic Surgery. She learned the most advanced techniques under some of the greatest leaders and innovators in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery worldwide.

Hands

In addition to a wide breadth of skill in body contouring, Dr. Pinell has specialized in breast reconstruction techniques that offer cutting edge choices for Breast Augmentation and Breast Reconstruction patients. She is able to help patients with a variety of oncoplastic techniques in conjunction with either a mastectomy or lumpectomy. She is grateful to offer women such options as using their own tissues to recreate the breast, as well as the prepectoral (above the pec muscle) technique for implants.

Heart

Dr. Pinell came to the medical field to make a difference in people’s lives after a time in D.C. working in health policy research. She has studied advanced techniques in order to best serve breast cancer clients with breast reconstruction. She considers it a privilege to come alongside women who are fighting this battle.

Although she grew up in the Washington D.C. area, Dr. Pinell’s heart to help people has stretched across the sea to her country of heritage, Bolivia. Here she has volunteered her time and surgical expertise to help needy children with reconstructive surgery for cleft lip and palate.

As a mom of 3 young boys, she also personally understands the physical sacrifices of motherhood. Dr. Pinell can really empathize as she offers solutions for helping mothers to feel confident again with their post baby body.

I’m confident you’ll love her as much as we do at Davinci Plastic, www.davinciplastic.com.

Recovery from Body Contouring Procedures

Focusing on the desired results helps everyone get through the process of recovery. Cosmetic surgery recovery is not easy, but it’s well worth it. Besides focusing on the end results, it does help you get through recovery if you manage your expectations of the recovery process. While we covered Breast Augmentation in depth last blog, here are some more bits of information about the recoveries for some of the other most popular body contouring procedures.

Breast Lift
Typical recovery for a Breast Lift is less than Breast Augmentation because the pectoralis muscle is not manipulated during surgery. Some people are able to go back to work as early as 3 to 6 days after surgery. The raised and tightened nipple and skin will have bruising and swelling for about 7 to 10 days, which can be covered with clothing. Things should feel back to normal around 3 months.

Abdominoplasty

The Tummy Tuck is bit more intense of a surgery than a Breast Augmentation. You will definitely need someone staying with you to help for at least the first 1 to 2 nights. Usually minimum work time off is 10 days. Support garments are necessary for 6 weeks and its crucial to not bend quickly or put any extra strain on the abdomen muscles. Even though movement increases, swelling could last up to 3 months. Optimal results are seen in 6 to 8 months. This makes the Fall and Winter the ideal time to schedule your Tummy Tuck so you can be ready to show off your new flat tummy for the next Spring and Summer.

Liposuction
Recovery from Liposuction is usually pretty short and can be accomplished with some quality rest over a long weekend. If you’re treating multiple areas, it could be 2 to 4 days, then back to work and other daily activities. Just don’t plan on being in a swim suit for the next 2 months because there will be bruising for around 2 weeks and scar healing. It’s great timing to get this procedure in the Fall or Winter months because the extra layers of clothing cover the bruising and compression garments.

Brazilian Butt Lift
This increasingly popular procedure is best performed in the winter months, to give yourself at least 4 months for swelling to dissipate and your new butt to be swimsuit season ready. A Brazilian Butt Lift requires harvesting fat from one part of the body and placing it into the buttocks area. You should feel well enough to be up and about after only 2 days, depending on what part of the body that the fat was collected from. The hardest part of recovery for this procedure is that you shouldn’t be sitting on your buttocks for about 8 weeks so that the fat placement isn’t disrupted. A compression garment and a donut pillow should help you through that part.

Vaginal Rejuvenation
After Labiaplasty, you should be able to return to work and daily activity after a long weekend of rest and staying off your feet. Some soreness and swelling will continue to resolve over the first 2 weeks. Ice packs and over the counter pain medication can help with discomfort. The main requirement is to abstain from any pubic pressure, including wearing tight clothing, certain workouts, horseback riding and intercourse for 3 to 6 weeks to allow for healing.

I hope these overviews of recoveries gave you a good start to understand what you might experience. In our consultation, we discuss your expectations in depth. Schedule one today at www.davinciplastic.com.

Reducing Chances of Capsular Contracture

Capsular contracture is one of the most common complications of Breast Augmentation. It is the hardening of the breast area around the implant so that the tissue tightens. Depending on the degree of capsular contracture, the breast area becomes uncomfortable and distorts the look of the breast. The highest percentage of women who would experience this, do so within the first 4 years, but it can also occur many years after the initial Breast Augmentation. Certain kinds of incisions have lower rates of capsular contracture, as well as submuscular placement of the implant, rather than subglandular.

There are many studies that propose different ways to reduce the incidence of capsular contracture. One of them is a recent study that demonstrates using a Keller funnel for a statistically significant decrease in capsular contracture when employing a periareolar incision to place the impant. The rate of capsular contracture occurrence is highest within the first year when using a periareolar incision, so this istudy provides a welcome bit of information, and a confirmation to the Keller funnel enhancement to the “no touch” method that use.

When placing a breast implant using a periareolar incision, the cut is made along the circumference of the areola. This incision method is usually chosen because the incision scar blends right in with the demarcation line of the areola. The periareolar incision is the second most common incision site chosen by my patients, with the most common being along the inframammary fold (the bottom crease of the breast).

However, with the periareolar incision, the implant has higher chances of being exposed to bacteria from the milk ducts and skin. This creates a biofilm around the implant and inflammation, ultimately leading to a higher chance of capsular contracture. “No touch” techniques where there is no patient skin contact or surgeon glove contact on the breast implant has reduced the chances of implant exposure to unwanted bacteria. This lessens the possibility of complications.

The use of a Keller funnel for inserting the implant takes the “no touch” technique to another level. It is a mechanical insertion device developed in 2009 as an alternative to hand placement of the breast implant into the chest pocket. The Keller funnel is sized to fit the implant exactly. Once the funnel is lubricated, the implant is poured directly from the packaging through the funnel where it advances down into the pocket in the chest. The Keller funnel shields the implant from any bodily contact until it rests inside its final location in the breast.

Since there is a higher incidence of capsular contracture in patients who’ve chosen a periareolar incision for their Breast Augmentation, I’m pleased to offer the advanced “no touch” technique of employing the Keller funnel for placing the breast implants. As this new study demonstrates, this will result in less incidence of capsular contracture for my patients. Visit www.davinciplastic.com to schedule a consultation for your Breast Augmentation.

Tell Your “Tank Toppers” Goodbye

One of those subtle but annoying body issues many women deal with are those pooches of fat that bulge between the breast and armpit when they wear a tank top, swim suit or bra. This troublesome pooch can be called “bra bulge,” “tank toppers,” “armpit rolls” or the official name, which is axillary roll. What most women don’t realize is that this is an issue often exacerbated by a Breast Augmentation. If you have them before getting breast implants or a Breast Lift, they will likely be even more prominent.

This fatty tissue is often present even when there is little breast tissue, making it applicable for women who even have small upper bodies. Fortunately, getting rid of this little pocket is very simple and can even be done at the same time as the Breast Augmentation is completed. It would simply require a little touch of Liposuction.

When this axillary roll is reduced at the time of the Breast Augmentation or Breast Lift, the Liposuction smoothes out the upper sides of the breast and armpit areas. With less bulk in this region, there is better breast definition and upper body contour for overall greater happiness with the Breast Augmentation results.

This add on axillary roll Liposuction will increase surgery time by an hour or 2, but it’s for such a small pocket that it only includes a little more bruising and swelling to the sides of the breast and armpit during the recovery time.

Doing multiple procedures at one time definitely has its benefits. You’re in surgery one time, under anesthesia once and going through recovery once. For example, with the Mommy Makeover, women are addressing multiple issues at one time to restore their post partum bodies. Depending on individual goals, this can include Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift, Liposuction, Tummy Tuck, and Vaginal Rejuvenation.

Tell your “tank toppers” goodbye. To eliminate your armpit bulge and have smoother breast definition, consider adding on axillary Liposuction to your Breast Augmentation or Breast Lift. Schedule your consultation at www.davinciplastic.com.

Mothers Love Mommy Makeovers

Mother’s Day is approaching soon and it is time to show love and honor the mothers in our lives. Last blog we talked about giving the gift of youthfulness to moms. For some, they’re satisfied with a day at the spa, for others, they’d like longer term youth enhancing effects of a Filler Facelift. And yet there’s another more entailed way to give the gift of rejuvenation to the mother in your life, and that’s with a cosmetic procedure.

Making the decision for plastic surgery is not an overnight decision nor something to just “pop up” with as a gift. However, there are mother’s who’ve been talking about wanting a procedure to help restore confidence and some youthfulness to their face or figure. These are the women who would be over the moon ecstatic if you said for Mother’s Day “go for it” on that surgery to help revitalize and restore her physically and in turn, emotionally.

The physical toll a mom has on her body manifests in different ways. Most often the act of bearing and breastfeeding children catalyze the most drastic changes any woman’s body will go through. More often than not, this miraculous act leaves some marks. These signs of motherhood are something many women are proud to bear, but others would rather see things looking back to an earlier time frame.

These procedures are particularly helpful for the body issues that moms deal with:

  1. Breast Augmentation and Breastlift restores and improves breasts that really can take a toll through the weight fluctuations of pregnancy and breastfeeding. Often breasts end up deflated and sagging after childbearing years, which can be a real bummer for moms who still are young.
  2. Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) addresses the issues from damaged abdomen muscles, residual stubborn adipose fat and stretched skin. Growing a baby requires extreme expanding and contracting of the abdomen, which leaves unwanted effects for many women. Tummy tuck restores confidence and a smooth abdomen.
  3. Liposuction eliminates those stubborn fat pockets that came with pregnancy and hormone changes that sometimes a healthy diet and exercise just don’t address. With liposuction, those undesirable bulges in on the abdomen, hips, and thighs can be streamlined and contoured for satisfaction with those body curves.
  4. Labiaplasty is a FemGen procedure that is gaining more popularity. Even after healing from a vaginal birth, that area can remain uncomfortable and not aesthetically preferable. Labiaplasty can help the nether regions feel normal again to restore confidence and comfort.

For those mothers who’ve already expressed an interest in surgery, giving the gift of a restored body for Mother’s Day could be the best way to honor and encourage them. It can say, “I love you how you are and appreciate the sacrifices you’ve made as a mother, but want you to love and feel confident in your motherhood and body, too.” To talk about how to go about supporting the mother in your life in this way, you can schedule a consultation to talk about any of these Mommy Makeover procedures at www.davinciplastic.com.

The Degree of Tummy Tuck

I customize an adaptation of the Tummy Tuck for each patient depending on the degree of loose skin, separated abdomen muscles, excess fat and other factors. However, for general understanding, there are terms that describe the degree of surgery, which involves how much of an area the Abdominoplasty is to address.

For example, while the names of the different degrees of Abdominoplasty wouldn’t be exactly the same thing for every patient, generally they would acknowledge how high on the abdomen or how far around the torso that the surgery would address. Here is a general definition of the types of Abdominoplasty and the differences between them:

  1. Mini Tummy Tuck addresses a smaller abdominal region, usually just a little pooch under the belly button. This is an area that, despite consistent healthy diet and exercise, just won’t go away. It can be a combination of any or all of excess skin from weight loss, stubborn adipose tissue, and the lower separation of the abdominal muscles due to pregnancy or injury. A mini Tummy Tuck only addresses the lower abdomen, so it doesn’t require moving the belly button. This option has a smaller incision and recovery is the fastest.
  2. Full, Complete or “Classic” Tummy Tuck addresses fat, muscle and skin from a larger region. It contours the full abdomen area from just below the breasts down to the pubic area. This is necessary for more extreme contouring scenarios were there is a pouch or skin flap above and below the belly button. Since the complete abdomen is being contoured, the reconstruction of the navel is possibly necessary. A naval area incision hidden within the belly button can address upper abdominal region and a lower incision from hip to hip (which can usually be hidden within the bikini line) will allow for full frontal contouring. This results in a smooth, flat abdomen with a beautiful, tight, anatomically correct belly button.
  3. Extended Tummy Tuck contours the abdomen and waist to address both belly and love handles. It addresses the frontal abdomen area with the Full Tummy Tuck, but extends the incision so that liposuction and skin tightening can occur further around the body to contour the flanks, as well.

As long as weight at the time of the surgery is maintained, the smooth, flattened abdomen results should be permanent. This is why its recommended for women to wait to have a Tummy Tuck until after their done having children. Some women combine Abdominoplasty with Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift or Liposuction to other areas for a complete body makeover.

Having a smooth, flat abdomen is healthier, and looks great for both men and women. Feel great about you look in a swimsuit or form fitting clothes. Schedule your Tummy Tuck consultation today at www.davinciplastic.com.

Breast Implant Malposition Explored

Coming out of Breast Augmentation, there is much care taken for you to have the best results possible. A lot of complications can be avoided by putting yourself in expert hands. I’m triple board certified and specialize in Breast Augmentation, revision and reconstruction. You have the best chances for the best outcome with us.

One of the complications of Breast Augmentation that we strive to avoid is breast implant malposition. This is when the implants move out of their correct position, either immediately or over time. It isn’t extremely common, but when it does happen, there are usually a few reasons and options for correction. If you’re aware of them, you can help avoid or identify them as early as possible for correction with Breast Revision surgery.

Here is a guide for the possible reasons for implant malposition:

  1. Not allowing yourself to properly heal. With the pressures to return to work and daily activities, especially for mothers, you’re faced with the difficulty of allowing your body enough time to heal. Everyone heals at different rates. This can take from 3 to 6 months, up to a year to completely recover. Taking proper care of yourself during healing and wearing the correct bra support is crucial. Usually breast implants are positioned high with the intention of them dropping, or “settling” into the proper place as they heal. Wearing underwire or push up bras during this time can prevent them from doing this properly and they could stay unnaturally high. This “riding high” malposition is usually a tell tale sign of Breast Augmentation and can also cause nipples to appear irregularly low or pointed downward.
  2. Your body shape, particularly if the ribs are more prominent or uneven, they could push the implant into a different position even if the implant pocket is positioned correctly. Ribcage prominence and scoliosis are some things surgeon should take note of and make accommodations for in surgery.
  3. If breast tissue is not strong, implant size can sometimes contribute to a low malposition where the implant seems to be falling out of the breast pocket. This isn’t the only reason low malposition occurs, but there is a higher risk of this with larger implants because the extra pressure can thin out the bottom of the breast pocket. The inferior position or “bottoming out” of an implant empties out the top of the breast of any fullness and often points the nipple too high.
  4. Capsular contracture is the most common reason for implant malposition. This occurs when the tissue surrounding the pocket containing the breast implant hardens. This constricts the implant and pushes it into a variety of ways that can look abnormal and be uncomfortable:
    1. This could be one of the reasons the implant would be pushed upward.
    2. Implants squeezed laterally into the armpits will look unusually far apart.
    3. When implants are pushed inwardly toward the center of the body this is called synmastia. The breast could be positioned inward or the implant could slide out of the pocket and bubble under the skin to look like a “uniboob.”
    4. Capsular contracture could also squeeze the implant into an irregular shape with unnatural curves or indentions.

If you are experiencing any of these unfortunate malpositions, in the correct expert hands, Breast Revision surgery can restore your hope, confidence and your breasts to a beautiful, natural appearance. Let’s talk about how I can help you. Visit www.davinciplastic.com to schedule a consultation.

Reasons for Breast Revision Surgery

These days my patients are quite informed about the procedures they are requesting from me. They’re reliant on my professional advice on the details and implementation of their goals, but most Breast Augmentation patients have an idea about what the procedure entails. The lesser known sister of Breast Augmentation is Breast Revision surgery. There are a variety of reasons someone might need this “surgery after the surgery,” and I’ll cover those here.

Breast Revision surgery is for someone who’s already had a Breast Augmentation and needs a change that requires another surgery to the breast area at any point in time near or distant from the original Breast Augmentation. The majority of women love their new breasts with no complications and often experience satisfaction for many years.

However, a Breast Revision surgery is a great option for a variety of reasons, such as:

  1. Address the natural effects of aging and gravity on the breasts. The breasts with the implant still will sag over time and so a Breast Lift could help restore perkiness and placement.
  2. Breasts change as a result of pregnancy, weight loss or gain. If the Breast Augmentation occurred before these events, a Revision can be intended to restore your breasts to their former stature.
  3. Change the implant size with a Breast Implant Exchange to go smaller or larger. Fortunately, the Breast Implant Exchange is less intense of a surgery than the original augmentation. The space or pocket for the implant has already been created so there’s not the stretching discomfort experienced during the initial surgery. Also, the recovery time is usually shorter.
  4. Repair breast implant malposition. The implant didn’t settle where it should be and has caused the breasts to look unnatural.
  5. Correct capsular contracture where the tissue surrounding the implant contracts and squeezes the implant into an awkward and uncomfortable position. In this case, the constricting tissue would be removed and the implant replaced.
  6. Change the implant type. Some women who got saline implants and experience rippling or wrinkling, prefer to exchange them for the consistency of a silicone gel. This is particularly common for women who got a Breast Augmentation when the silicone option was off the market from 1993 to 2006.
  7. Breast Implant Exchange for prevention or in the case of leakage. Implants do not have a lifetime guarantee to not leak. It is recommended to exchange for a new implant every 10 years. If a saline implant is leaking, it’s easy to detect because the breast will appear deflated. However, in most cases, a silicone implant leak would require an MRI to detect leakage, so regular checks are recommended.
  8. Breast cancer treatments may require the implant to be removed. This is a decision that should be made along with your medical support team.

In conjunction with considering the need for a Breast Revision surgery, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of choosing an experienced plastic surgeon to perform it. Maintaining aesthetics of the breasts while navigating prior surgery effects is an art that requires much technical skill and expertise. To discuss the possibility of putting yourself in the hands of a triple board certified surgeon, such as myself, you can schedule a consultation at www.davinciplastic.com.

All About The Breasts: Surprising Facts, part 2

The more you learn about your breasts the better you can care for them and appreciate them. Here are some more fun facts to help you know more about your girls.

Side sleeping is best for breast shape. They even could use some pillow support while you sleep. This is just another reason that belly sleeping isn’t best for your body.

Breasts can be a breeding ground for bacteria. This happens because sweat can collect and the abundant oil glands above and between your breasts to make the area vulnerable to clogged pores and pimples. Prevent problems by wiping the area right after workouts or if you’ve been outside sweating a lot, and never staying long in sweaty bras because they can harbor bacteria that love dark, damp places.

They have growth potential through your early to mid 20s. This is especially important for younger women when considering breast augmentation. Though most breast growth does happen through the puberty years, they do continue to grow into early adulthood. How big they do get is actually determined by genetics from both parents. After the mid 20s, it’s unlikely for them to grow unless you gain weight, get pregnant, breastfeed (however they will go back down afterwards) or sometimes with birth control.

Nipples usually get darker during pregnancy. The body does this because it is anticipating breastfeeding the baby, which can better see darker colors. The darker nipple makes it a more visible target. No reason to freak out though, most women’s nipples lighten back to normal a little while after baby is born, while some may stay just slightly darker.

The creation of cleavage isn’t just based on breast size. While the larger ladies do have a cleavage creating advantage, breast shape and location on the torso also come into play. This means that the same cup size can vary in their ability to create cleavage. If the breasts are fuller in the outer breast or positioned wider apart, cleavage may not come as readily. A narrow torso, breasts set closer together or fuller in the center have an easier time creating cleavage.

Exercise can’t increase breast size, but the right ones can help their appearance. Breasts aren’t made of muscle, but they’re resting on top of muscle. These exercises can help firm up the pectoral muscles, which can slightly perk up the breasts: pushups, bench presses, dumb bell flies, medicine ball slams or pullovers. If this doesn’t provide enough of the lift and firmness you’re looking for, a Breast Lift can definitely enhance the positioning and perkiness of the breast.
