One ten minute treatment – a few tiny injections – and within days there’s a noticeable improvement to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and brow wrinkles.
Lines, wrinkles and grooves are an inevitable, unwelcome aspect of facial aging. They’re called dynamic wrinkles that are caused by muscles in motion. Every smile, frown and laugh uses these muscles which, over time, leave their impression on our faces, as these unwelcome reminders of fleeting youth etched deeper into the skin. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, safe injection, using tiny amount of botulinum toxin type A, which blocks the nerve signal to the muscle and prevents the formation of facial lines and wrinkles. Dr. Davison and Dr. Pinell recommend BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments to patients who want to smooth out those two vertical lines between the brows, crow’s feet around the eyes, smoker’s lines above the lips, nose furrows and thick lines in the neck.
Done in our office, the treatment takes only a few minutes. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into pre-targeted areas – using a very fine needle. Our patients experience little to no discomfort and no recovery time is needed. A minimal amount of bruising and swelling is normal and it may or may not occur, but resolves quickly.
Many of my patients desire the age-defying treatments we offer them today but may hesitate, anticipating discomfort during the procedure. Although many treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM®, Sculptra® Aesthetic, and RADIESSE® can be done in the office with minimal discomfort, we offer a “sleeping beauty” option that leaves you totally relaxed and comfortable during the entire procedure. The “sleeping beauty” option offers a safe, simple, painless and relaxing alternative that is performed here in our accredited surgery suite.
What does BOTOX® Cosmetic do?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromuscular inhibitor that, once injected, prevents the nerve signal to the “motion” muscles. This in turn prevents the formation of creases, lines and wrinkles.
Who is a good candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments?
Anyone who is unhappy with the signs of facial aging – lines, grooves, wrinkles and creases in the upper one-third of the face (forehead and eye area) and the lower third of the face – around the mouth (smoker’s lines) and the neck area (neck bands). You should be in otherwise good health.
Are BOTOX® Cosmetic injections for men and women?
Absolutely! Men today are as much concerned about their aging appearance – and career competitiveness – as women. Dr. Davison, Dr. Pinell, and Nora their PA are experts in performing injectable treatments for both – men and women.
How long does a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment take?
This varies with each patient but typically a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment requires only a few minutes of your time. Most patients have “lunch hour” treatments and are able to return to work if they so choose.
Are BOTOX® Cosmetic injections painful?
No – our patients experience only a temporary burning sensation.
Do BOTOX® Cosmetic injections require any downtime or lost work time?
Dr. Davison, Dr. Pinell, and Nora their PA are highly skilled in performing the injections so his patients rarely experience downtime. In fact, for most patients returning to normal activities, right after a treatment, is the norm.
Does Insurance cover BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments?
No. Insurance does not cover elective/cosmetic procedures. However, today there is financing available for most treatments. Ask about this in our business office.
Who will administer the BOTOX® Cosmetic injections?
Dr. Davison, Dr. Pinell, and Nora their PA have many years of experience, are specially trained and highly skilled in performing all dermal injection procedures. This is very important to avoid possible side-effects and poor outcomes. Injectable treatments require great skill and an artistic eye.
The initial consultation with your surgeon is critical! It should always be face to face with your surgeon, during which time he/she listens closely to your concerns. Dr. Davison and Dr. Pinell believe this time spent with you is critical to both you and him/her. It is during the consultation that your surgeon comes to fully understand your concerns, evaluates them correctly, and is then able to make the recommendations and develop the treatment plan that is right for you. Dr. Davison and Dr. Pinell invest the time to sit down and talk to you face to face.
