Procedure

ThermiVa® is non-surgical, non-ablative, and non-invasive, and it does not require any anesthesia. The procedure is performed in-office by one of our skilled practitioners and uses radiofrequency energy to improve vaginal tissue. ThermiVa® is performed with a hand-held device that is inserted into the vagina. At the end of the device is a square metal tip electrode through which the radiofrequency energy is emitted. The device will gently heat up and emit the energy into the walls of the vagina. Patient comfort is a priority, so the temperature of the device can be adjusted.

ThermiVa® can address multiple conditions and visual imperfections to improve the feeling and function of your vaginal canal. It has the added benefit of being non-invasive and non-surgical, and it requires no downtime, so it’s an effective procedure for someone who doesn’t want to have to worry about an extended recovery period. ThermiVa® is effective for patients experiencing a stretched vaginal canal, which can be both a sign of aging and a side-effect of pregnancy and childbirth. ThermiVa® also helps to treat post-childbirth incontinence. Additionally, ThermiVa® is not just an internal procedure; it can also improve the external look and feel of the labia.

Recovery

One of the greatest benefits of the ThermiVa® procedure is its lack of downtime. Patients are able to resume their typical daily activities almost immediately after the procedure is complete. Typically, complete pelvic rest is necessary after procedures addressing the vagina, but that’s not the case with ThermiVa®; patients don’t even need to abstain from intercourse or tampon usage for any length of time.

Results

Patients will notice a difference in the feeling of their vagina and an improvement of their concerns almost immediately. The procedure works by stimulating collagen production, so results will gradually continue to improve over time. Patients may require multiple treatments to achieve their ideal results.
