Chin Implant in Washington D.C.

cheek implants

If your chin is too small or recessed – your nose may look too big. If your chin is too prominent or “jutting” this causes imbalance with the rest of the facial features.

The chin is the framework and support system for the entire face.  If that framework is too weak – or too strong – the rest of the structure becomes distorted by being unbalanced and out of proportion.  As we age the tissues and muscles in our faces lose their firmness, elasticity and volume is lost – causing everything to descend. Chin Implants are one of today’s most popular options for restoring facial balance resulting in a more youthful – natural appearance. Most patients choose to have a Chin Implant in combination with Facelift and Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty) or Nose Reshaping to achieve the most satisfying – natural looking results. Chin Implant surgery is age-defying and removes years from an aging face.

Today we have many options that are less invasive than procedures done 10 years ago. This means less downtime – with visible results quicker.

Who is a Good Candidate for Chin Implant Surgery?

Chin Implant Procedure:

Your surgeon will make a small incision inside the mouth – behind your lower lip and then create a pocket over the chin.  The implant is easily inserted into the pocket, positioned correctly and the incision is closed with sutures. A compression bandage is applied to stabilize your implant.  Some numbness and swelling is normal and to be expected. Any discomfort is easily managed with oral pain medication and cold compresses. Patients typically return to normal activities within 7-10 days, but must avoid strenuous activities during that time.
