LABIAL REDUCTION PROCEDURE:
There are different techniques used by surgeons for labial reduction.  Dr. Davison will discuss this with you during your personal consultation and determine which one is right for your surgery.  In reducing the Labial Minora (small inner lips outside the vagina) he may employ direct excision and reduction to remove excess, saggy, elongated skin and reshape the lips.  For reduction of the Labia Majora (the outer lips) liposuction and liposculpture may be used along with reduction and tightening of the Mons Pubis.The procedure takes about 30 minutes if performed solo and longer if done in combination with other procedures for optimal results.  Many patients choose to combine Labiaplasty with Vaginoplasty, Monsplasty and even Tummy Tuck for maximum results and satisfaction.

Where Is The Surgery Performed?

Will Insurance Pay For Labiaplasty Surgery?
Insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures.  If your surgery is performed for medical/ health reasons, then it may be covered.  Financing is available today for cosmetic procedures. Ask about it in our business office.

What Is To Be Expected After Labiaplasty Surgery?
Swelling, bruising and mild to moderate discomfort at the surgical site is normal and to be expected.  This resolves usually within 2-7 days.  During this time you can expect some spotting and/or urinary hesitance. Oral pain medication will manage the discomfort and you will be given an antibiotic to prevent infection. We will give you instructions concerning this.  Full healing takes about 6 weeks.

How Soon Will I Be Able to Shower After Labiaplasty Surgery?
You will be able to shower within 6 hours after your surgery.

How Much Downtime Is Involved After Labiaplasty Surgery?
You will be able to return to sedate activities within 2 days after surgery.  You will need to avoid jogging, biking, horseback riding, running, heavy lifting and sexual intercourse for 4-6 weeks.

Does Labiaplasty Affect or Decrease Sexual Sensitivity and/or Gratification?
No. The clitoris is the organ associated with sensory pleasure and it is not affected by Labiaplasty surgery.
