Breast Lift Incisions Explained

I wrote some blogs on breast surgery a few weeks ago and then took a break to focus on summer sun precautions.   Now I want to finish the breast series with this blog on scarring and incisions.  Scarring is always a concern when choosing a cosmetic surgery. We want to be able to focus on the beautiful results of the surgery, not the incision scars it may leave behind. Fortunately, with a Breast Lift, there are a variety of incisions, some more inconspicuous than others. However, different techniques may be required based on how much sagging you want corrected. The incision I recommend will be based on your personal goals, existing breast tissue, and the amount of excess skin to be removed. Here is an explanation of each of the possibilities.

Minimal Sagging: Crescent Incision
This incision is very small and traces around the upper half edge of the areola. While this is minimal scarring sounds ideal, it can take away only a minimum amount of skin. This makes it only an option for patients who have very little sagging to correct. For this reason, it is the least frequent incision technique and is usually only done in combination with a breast augmentation.
Mild Sagging: Peri Areolar or “Donut” Incision
The Peri Areolar incision is a circular incision tracing around the outer edge of the areola. This technique can also be used to reduce the size of the areola if that is desired. Like the Crescent incision, this “Donut” incision is commonly performed along with a Breast Augmentation and can address mild sagging.

Moderate Sagging: Vertical or “Lollipop” Incision
Two incisions are required for this technique, as it can accomplish more extensive reshaping of sagging breasts. They form the pattern of a lollipop, hence the nickname. The first incision is around the outer edge of the areola and the second runs down vertically from the bottom center of the areola to the underlying crease where the breast meets the torso, called the inframammary fold. This is a very common incision technique since it allows for the removal of a moderate amount of excess skin and reshaping of the entire breast. Fortunately, these scars are easily hidden in bras and bikini tops.

Extensive Sagging: Inverted T or “Anchor” Incision
Dramatic results for reshaping the breasts are available with the Inverted T incision. Getting its nickname as the “Anchor” lift because of the incision pattern, this technique involves 3 scars. One is around the outer edge of the areola, then another is down vertically from the bottom outer edge of the areola to the breast crease, and the last one is hidden in the horizontal crease of the inframammary fold. This technique allows for the removal of a significant amount of excess skin and sagging tissue. It is also used when the Breast Lift is combined with a Breast Reduction. This gives beautiful correction for reshaping pendulous breasts, which is when the nipple is below the edge of the crease of the inframammary fold and it is pointing downward.

In my expert hands, these incisions will be as minimal as possible, and over time, with your proper care these scars will fade. Regardless of which incision technique is required, your scars will be concealed and far from your mind when you see how lovely your lifted breasts look in your clothes and bathing suit. Moisture – for Healthy Winterized Facial/Body Skin

It’s About Moisture…

Cold, dry winter weather can really cause irritation, discomfort and… can age the skin if proper care isn’t taken. You invest in your skin with cosmetic surgery and non invasive procedures, so it is important to take extra care of your skin…especially when the weather is extreme.  Here are some age defying tips to help you keep your skin healthy and feeling great in all kinds of weather!

Conserve Moisture
There are many habits that can strip out the moisture from your skin. This dryness can be painful, itchy and contributes to skin-aging by stripping moisture. So – work on replenishing this lost moisture using a few simple steps:

First…some habits to avoid – and some to do:
….Hot showers or baths removes the natural lubrication and oil on the skin. Although a hot shower always feels good after coming in from the cold, try to keep it short and not too hot.
…..Cleansers and toners, containing harsh ingredients, strip your skin of natural oil. Real sudsy cleansers usually have a surfactant like sodium laurel sulfate, and the acetone in many toners can be too harsh, along with already dry conditions.

…..Use mild cream or gel cleansers and toner with no alcohol this time of year.
Sipping hot coffee and tea is so comforting when it’s cold out, but beware the dehydrating effects they can have. Most people only think to drink lots of water when they’re sweating and hot, but cold, windy air can be just as dehydrating for your skin. So, drink lots of pure water everyday!

Moisture Reinforcement
Not only do you need to be on the defensive when it comes to protecting your skin (during the winter) by not participating in certain drying habits, but you need to be on the offense to add the extra help it needs this time of year. Here are some ways to add moisture reinforcement for your skin:

…..Running the heat in a home strips the air of any moisture -counter this by adding a little water vapor back to your home’s air with a humidifier.
…..Diligently use moisturizer morning and night… your face and hands are most exposed to the elements, but don’t neglect the rest of your body.
…..Exfoliate gently to remove the dull dead skin build up … then you must moisturize that fresh new skin to keep it healthy and glowing.
…..Continue using sunscreen. Snow can actually reflect up to 80 percent UV rays. As skiers and snow sports enthusiasts know, you can get a sunburn in the winter.
…..Eat foods that encourage your skins moisture retention... rich in essential fatty acids like salmon and other “healthy fats” found in avocados and coconut oil.

I hope these tips help you save your skin this winter. We also offer medical grade, physician prescribed skincare, SkinMedica, which effectively addresses many skin issues and is essential for healthy skin maintenance. Stop by our office or visit our website www.davinciplastic.com to learn more.

Refresh Your Under Eyes with Fillers

When you look at yourself in the mirror do you see dark circles, deep hollows, and tired looking eyes? If the hustle and bustle of the holidays is putting extra stress on you and it’s showing, you can turn to one of the most under estimated areas of the face – to restore some youthfulness to your tear troughs.

What are tear troughs?
The tear trough is the area under the eye that extends from the inner corner of the eye, arching down in a semicircle. The technical term is the nasojugal groove. Sunken tear troughs can cast a shadow under the eye that looks like dark circles and gives the face a worn out appearance. This sunkenness also ages the face by creating a visible separation from what should be the smooth transition – from the lower eyelid to the cheek.

Why do tear troughs happen?
The skin under the eyes is very thin and delicate. It shows signs of distress more easily than thicker skin. It is also more prone to the aging effects of gravity. The tissue laxity and volume loss under the eyes, as we age, leads to the tear trough becoming more prominent. Also, as fat gets displaced from behind the eye, or possibly increases and bulges under the eye, this can accentuate the aging of the eye area.

How can the under eye be rejuvenated?
Try …
– getting more rest
– cutting down on salty foods
– minimizing your exposure to environmental pollutants
– not rubbing your eyes so much

While these tips can prevent the tear troughs and under eye bags from getting worse, you can also reverse their appearance with hyaluronic acid fillers.

Rejuvenate Your Tear Troughs with HA Fillers
While there are surgical options to reversing tear troughs, more people prefer to try non invasive treatments first. This has led to the use of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as Restylane, Juvéderm or Belotero. When they are injected on top of the orbital bone, the HA attracts water to the area to restore volume. This gives the eyes a fresh, rested appearance by the next day after treatment. These results will last 6 months to a year, and you can go right back to your daily routine with no downtime or recovery.

Subtle Solutions for Significant Youthfulness
Today’s patients realize that facial rejuvenation can happen from restoring volume loss in subtle areas … such as the earlobes, temples, chin, melolabial folds and tear troughs. I definitely see a more rested, fresh, and youthful appearance for the whole face using HA fillers to rejuvenate the under eyes.

There’s still time to make your eyes look alive and bright again….before the Holidays!  Call to schedule your treatment today!

Facelift for Different Decades

Last week we determined that this is the perfect time of the year to get a Facelift. The end of summer and beginning of fall season offers the perfect downtime before Thanksgiving and winter festivities. Now, I will address the different seasons of life, men and women experience, and the rejuvenation benefits  from a customized Facelift.

Variations exist based on gender, genetics, environment and lifestyle choices… such as smoking and how diligently someone has cared for their skin. However – generally our skin reflects the decades in similar ways. With this in mind, remember that the most important factor isn’t specifically your age, but whether the face reveals the changes from aging that can be corrected by a Facelift.

Facelift In Your 40s’s

  • The signs of aging start to creep in for most people in their late 30s and early 40s.
  • These signs of aging are when the lines turn into wrinkles and
  • skin starts to lose some of its elasticity and glow.
  • Visible crows feet, frown lines, smile parenthesis  show up
  • and volume loss in the cheeks and lips become a sign of this age.

A “liquid facelift” with Voluma can restore volume in the cheeks to create a subtle lift to the mid face that can might decrease marionette lines. But a Mini Facelift would be needed if the upper face and lower face need to be addressed as well. It can really give a youthful boost to the brows or jaw line that to keep you looking younger for longer. It is the least invasive surgical option and recovery is relatively quick. It works really well in combination with a Liquid Facelift, Botox and fillers to keep you looking great in your “Flirty 40s.”

Facelift In Your 50s and 60s
Often times, women in this age range are looking for more noticeable results than what can be fixed with injectables alone. Gravity and slower cellular repair result less collagen and elastin, showing up as more prominent loose, sagging skin, drooping brow, eyelids, mid-face and jowls. A Full Facelift is the only way to rejuvenate every area of the face from the forehead down to the neck. It can rejuvenate your features and easily take 10 years off the face.

What about the 70s?
It’s important to remember that there’s a difference in chronological age and physiological age. Someone who’s taken great care of them self may be 70 years old, but as fit, active and sharp as a 50 year old. But generally speaking, the skin has lost the elasticity necessary to experience any lasting benefits of a facelift.

There are also age related health ailments and the more difficult recover from surgery that usually makes an elective surgery an unwise choice. There are however, other ways to help 70 year olds to look the best they can for their age. For example, one of the main reasons for facial sagging is volume loss. This can be helped with a “liquid facelift” using Voluma.

Contact me today to schedule a consultation to see how a Facelift can enhance your features and turn back the years. Visit www.davinciplastic.com today. As a triple board certified in plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and head & neck surgery, your face is in the best hands with me.

Your Celebrity Body

Celebrity Body Sculpting or Body Contouring has paved the way for the general population to see, adore and emulate. With increased celebrity presence in the public eye through social media, their influence is much more far reaching. Celebrities have set the “ideal” body types and facial features that are seen as desirable in our culture. So much so, that it isn’t rare to have patients request lips like Angelina Jolie, a nose like Kate Middleton or arms like Michelle Obama.

Social Media Influence on Younger Millennials
With 2015 seeing the celebrity rise of the younger Kardashian sisters, Kylie and Kendall, their peers took notice of their cosmetic enhancements. With the Millennial generation practically living on Instagram and Facebook, when the celebrities they follow, such as the younger Kardashians, have cosmetic procedures, this greatly contributes their desire to get these procedures as well. Also, the aging prevention mindset is much more present with Millennials who are getting injections and other non surgical procedures in their 20s. This is reflected in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) 2015 survey, in which 64% of their members experienced an increase of procedures performed on this under 30 age group.

Other Generations Aren’t Immune
Boomers, GenXer’s and Millennials in their 30s certainly aren’t exempt from the influence of social media on their perception of an ideal body and face. They see the Body Sculpting procedures that celebrities have received and use this as a springboard to creating a younger looking, contoured version of themselves. Relative to their degree of aging, this would include both the non invasive procedures, injectables, as well as surgeries.

What Does Body Contouring Include?
These are some of the most common aspects of Body Sculpting, which can include one or over time, all, of these procedures:

  • Injectables
  • Facelift
  • Rhinoplasty
  • Eyelid or Forehead Lift
  • Breast Augmentation
  • Arm Lift
  • Tummy Tuck

It’s All About You!

  • This array of Body Sculpting cosmetic procedures can help you get the body you desire when you may not have access to a personal chef, stylist, trainer and unlimited financial resources like the celebrities.
  • I want my patients to be healthy and feel good in their own skin. Finding the right Body Contouring procedures for you can build confidence that can help in all areas of life, including the possibility of a job promotion and finding a love connection.
  • Let’s talk now and design your ideal Body Sculpting Plan so that you can have your best, healthiest body coming into the summer swimsuit season and beyond.

Bikini Ready with Tummy Tuck

Spring is rushing by quickly and thosefun in the sun” summer, poolside, family picnic, skimpy dress and beach wear days are almost here.  Many of my patients are requesting those body sculpting treatments to help them look slimmer, fitter and younger.  Liposuction is at the top of the list but when that isn’t enough to sculpt that tummy area…Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) is the answer my patients (especially new mommies) choose to create that desired beach body/poolside look. This is safe, effective and achieves long lasting results.

THE ABS THAT NO AMOUNT OF CRUNCHES WILL FIX Realistically, the stretched skin has to go somewhere and sometimes the extra tummy bulge isn’t just from the stubborn baby fat that won’t go away. Sometimes the tummy bulge is a result of a hernia or loose abdomen muscles that separated during the time of extra stress, called diastasis recti. Unfortunately, no matter how much you work out and even get back to your pre baby weight, if you’re abdomen muscles have been torn, the belly won’t be able to go back to being flat.

TUMMY TUCK TO THE RESCUE…Ideally, a patient who’d like a tummy tuck, aka abdominoplasty, is in great shape and just needs a little help with that small bulge that won’t go away, whether it’s a little fat, loose skin or from diastasis recti. Even if you’re not completely toned, a tummy tuck is that perfect boost to get you over the hump of achieving a flat stomach, especially if you’re within 10 pounds of your ideal weight. Moms sacrifice so much of themselves to bear, birth and bring up children that a tummy tuck is a well deserved confidence builder to have a stomach they’re not ashamed of.

WE WON’T LEAVE OUT THE BELLY BUTTON… Also, if the belly button got stretched out during pregnancy weight gain, a belly button repair is a simple revision to add to a tummy tuck. It is sometimes even necessary, depending on how much loose skin will be removed during the tuck. This will give the belly button an ideal shape and position on the abdomen.

TUMMY TUCK IS NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL… Depending on your body’s unique needs, there are a variety of abdominoplasty techniques to help you achieve your ideal abdomen. They will address the skin, fat and muscles in the stomach area to contour for your unique physique. Your health, the technique and extent of the surgery will also determine whether the recover is 1 to 4 weeks, but either way there will be a recovery period.

TUMMY TUCK GIVES YOU THE FLAT, BIKINI READY ABS…the “fun in the sun” body you want back.  Let’s talk soon!

Put Your Best Face Forward Now…

Injectable Fillers are the number one cosmetic procedure performed in the US today. You may see them advertised as Liquid FaceLifts, Fillers FaceLifts or a title coined by a surgeon including his name. No matter, they all have a few things in common:
– they are non surgical
– no downtime is required
– they promise a more youthful appearance – absent lines and wrinkles
– they are injected under the skin to plump up and re-contour sagging skin

BOTOX – of course is a name everyone recognizes today and it is the most well known of all the fillers. It is the lead product with many uses of its own but is also used in combination with other fillers for more desirable, long lasting results.

A Brief Primer on Fillers:

JUVEDERM – is made from hyaluronic acid. HA (for short) is a natural body substance that attracts and retains 1,000 times its own weight in moisture. When injected under the skin it also binds with collagen and elastin thus transporting essential nutrients to the treatment area while plumping up and recontouring. It is not derived from animal sources.
Juvederm is effective in treating moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles.

RESTYLANE – is also made from hyaluronic acid (HA) and works well to correct moderate lines and wrinkles. It’s commonly used with Botox to enhance your desired results.

PERLANE – comes from the makers of Restylane but is a modified option using larger gel particles that are more effective in filling those deeper folds by increasing facial volume. Perlane is a top choice for “lip augmentation.”
SCULPTRA – was formulated specifically as a treatment option for facial lipoatrophy. Lipoatrophy is a condition that causes sunken cheeks, indentations and hollow eyes. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid and does not migrate or causes damage to surrounding tissues. Visible results from Sculptra injections appear gradually over a few months and from three to five treatments are needed for these results.

AUTOLOGOUS FAT – is one of my favorite filler options. This method uses your own body fat to treat lines, wrinkles, fat loss etc. in many body areas. Because we are using your own natural body fat – the risk of reaction and/or rejection is rare. It is reabsorbed by the body over time, so repeat treatments are needed for maintenance…but over time the body rallies and self corrects to make treatments longer lasting and more effective. Results also look so natural.
Are you ready to “put your best face forward” going into this Spring and Summer. Get started now to look refreshed, rested and more youthful.

Labiaplasty Can Improve Your Love Life…

No surgery in plastic surgery has seen as much growth as Labiaplasty. The latest statistics from American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery shows a 44% rise in this procedure. The number of surgeons providing this procedure has risen from 21% to 29% of members of Esthetic Plastic Surgery Society. This represents an 8% increase.

Expert Study Reports Increased Sensation
*Great information in a recent paper entitled *”Prospective Evaluation of Female External Genitalia Sensitivity to Pressure following Labia Minora Reduction and Clitoral Hood Reduction.” by Dr Otto Placik has helped dispel concerns regarding post operative labial sensitivity.  His article, published in the Oxford Journals,  titled “Prospective Evaluation of Feminine Genital Sensitivity and Pressure following Labia Minora reduction and Clitoral Hood reduction” shows that rather than reducing sensitivity with surgery, there was a net increase in sensitivity to touch. It is suggested the removal of the droopy excess labia removes *in *un of labia, which may have less feeling.

More Frequent and Satisfying Sex
In addition to labial sensitivity increase, the clitoral hood when raised may have enhanced feeling. What does all this mean, well, a happier patient. In self reporting from the same group, *44 to 1 of the women had an increase in sexual relations and when they did, it was better. These labiaplasty patients reported an improvement in orgasm frequency in *35 to 3 subjects and increase of strength of orgasm *35 to 3. This information reported in the Oxford Journals for the increase shown in 2012-2013.  So in conclusion, not only did labiaplasty maintain or improve sensitivity, it made for a more frequent, better sex life.

4 Tips for Looking Great in Photos

Everyone is taking photos to remember the holidays…so this is the time you want to put your best face forward. You’ll definitely want to be “picture posing savvy” since you could be included in photos for socialite magazines and social media like Facebook and Instagram. You could  be seen by hundreds, possibly thousands, of people. To help you with this, I’ve combined some tips from photography experts with some of my own advice on how to look great in photos. You’ll want to read to the end because I’m offering some amazing specials on injectables to help you out, too!

Be a picture posing pro…tips to look great in photos:

The Perfect Pout… It’s great to have straight, bright pearly whites, but if you have no lips to share the shine, your smile won’t look as good as it could. If you’re thin lipped, it could be adding years to your perceived age and throw off your facial balance and harmony. You can get that plush pout ready with JUVEDERM. This hyaluronic acid filler increases lip volume, and in the hands of an Expert Injector, rest assured that it will be precisely applied for natural, sexy and supple lips that you’ll really want to show off.

Eyes Youthful and Bright… You’ve heard it said that you should smile with your eyes. Well this is true! And if you’ve got some crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles, you can take years off your eyes with a little BOTOX. This injectable “relaxes” the muscles so that they can’t crease. Your forehead is part of your “T zone” and can often look shiny in pictures. Remember to always apply a light dusting of Jane Iredale mineral powder to keep away the shine.

Do Away with the Double Chin…
One of the most common picture blunders… accentuates the double chin. This unflattering profile can appear in photos even when there really isn’t much of one in real life. One solution for accentuating your real chin is VOLUMA today’s  injectable to restore youthful volume and contour to the chin area. You can also trick the camera into slimming down your face by slightly tilting your head down and angling your chin out just a little bit. This will give the perception of a sharper jaw line and higher cheekbones.

The Three “P’s” of Pictures: Position, Posture and Pose…
Position yourself in the middle of a group photo. The people on the end always look bigger.
Good posture makes you look thinner and your stomach flatter. Simply stand up straight, lengthen your neck, roll your shoulders back, and lift up your chest.
Pose in a natural, slimming position by resting your weight on one leg. Rest your hand on the hip with shoulder and elbow pointed back or allow your hands to fall naturally at your side while slightly lifting your elbow back and away from your body. This prevents the illusion of a “fat arm” that happens when the arm is pressed against the body and will prevent your hands from looking larger than normal.

Follow these tips and look years younger in photos by taking advantage of the great December deals for Voluma, Botox and Juvederm.  See my website for complete info or better yet: Call to schedule your appointment today! www.davinciplastic.com

Scarf Season…Refined Chin…The Perfect Time for Kybella

The season is here for sweaters and scarves. This is the perfect time of year for neck rejuvenation… since it’s easy to comfortably cover and conceal. This is why I recommend that my patients, who want to get rid of their double chin, schedule KYBELLA treatments… especially during the fall and winter months… even during the holidays, since there’s no downtime.

What is KYBELLA?
KYBELLA is a deoxycholic acid injection that is the first and only FDA approved injectable treatment to melt away the fat under the chin. It noticeably contours and minimizes the appearance of the “double chin” without surgery. Since it is just a series of injections, it doesn’t require any incisions, bandages or the downtime associated with surgery, so you don’t have to miss any holiday festivities.

Why would someone get KYBELLA?
According to a 2015 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), 67% of people said they’re bothered by fullness under the chin or the appearance of a double chin. This occurs in men and women due to many factors, such as aging, weight gain and genetics. It is a stubborn area to treat naturally because often, no matter how much someone works out or changes their diet, the double chin remains.

After a full KYBELLA treatment, 79% of patients were satisfied with the appearance of their face and chin. These are great results to achieve without surgery, especially since the outcome is long lasting and recurrence is not expected. After treatment on 1,600 patients, most people reported feeling happier and younger with their new KYBELLA chin profile.
How does it work?
KYBELLA contains deoxycholic acid, which is a molecule that naturally occurs in the body. The natural function of this acid in the body is to help the body break down and absorb dietary fat.
When used in the form of KYBELLA via injection into the fat beneath the chin, it destroys fat cells in the immediate area. Those cells will no longer be able to store or accumulate fat.
As the fat seems to melt away, the bulge from double chin retreats.

What does a KYBELLA treatment involve?
A successful KYBELLA treatment will include multiple treatments. Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions. This will be determined by a personalized plan during your consultation. In each session, multiple injections will be strategically made under the chin area. Any temporary swelling or bruising can easily be covered by Jane Iredale mineral makeup and your pretty scarves and turtleneck sweaters typically worn this time of year. Thus, the reason Kybella treatments are so popular this time of year. It’s the perfect time to get them done and have your youthful, contoured chin for the Holidays.

If you’re ready to refine your chin… to feel less self conscious about your double chin…and more confident with a sleek profile, schedule your KYBELLA consultation with me at www.davinciplastic.com. Take advantage of the benefits of a cold weather wardrobe to refine your profile with KYBELLA, the non surgical way to love the contour of your neck and chin.

Breast Augmentation with Fat Grafting

As an expert in Fat Grafting (also known as Fat Transfer), I’ve seen how wonderful this completely native material…from your own body can naturally enhance features without the use of foreign substances. It does require great skill to be used correctly and does have some limitations. But for my natural minded patients, this could be a great option for facial volume loss and the Brazilian Butt Lift, as I’ve previously written about. Depending on my patient’s expectations it can even be an option for breast augmentation.

Managing Expectations of Fat Grafting
I like to have an extensive discussion of my patient’s expectations and their options with any procedure, but when it comes to breast augmentation, there are quite a few options to discuss. These discussions include what size breast would be harmonious for the body, the kind of implant, the type of incision used to insert the implant or whether to even use an implant. Often, fat grafting isn’t considered by my patients because it isn’t as widely publicized as implants, but I do believe that it can be a great option for many. Here are some of the reasons to consider Fat Grafting for your Breast Augmentation:
… It’s a completely natural substance coming from your own body.
… Because it’s from your own body, there is less chance of your body rejecting it.
…The results are as natural looking as you can get.
…There’s no risk of silicone leakage or integration into the body, so no follow ups years later and no worries.
…”Upkeep” surgeries aren’t necessary.
…No scalpel is required, as the fat is extracted and relocated to the breast with a needle.
…A minimal 2 to 4 day recovery time is needed, compared to weeks of recovery after a breast augmentation with implants.
…The fat used for the breast is taken from an area of the body that can spare some, so while you’re enhancing the breasts, you’re getting the benefits of liposuction elsewhere in the body.

Fat Grafting is a Less Invasive Option

When done by an expert in fat grafting, like myself, it can add natural looking volume to the breast without lumps, bumps, clumps or clusters. It also encourages a natural response, from the body, that makes it long lasting. No drainage ports, compression bands, or weeks of recovery while waiting for the pain to subside and the implants to “settle” into their place. A breast augmentation with fat grafting looks truly natural… after only a few days, when the swelling and bruising from the injections subside. And no worries if you’re needle phobic. You can remain totally comfortable while sedated under general anesthesia, as the fat is extracted from another area and injected into specific places in the breast.

Natural is Not for Everyone
While fat grafting can create lovely results, it does have limitations. It may not be able to accomplish the increase in volume or shape that some women are looking for, which is why there is a large market for implants. There are many safe options with implants that offer a beautiful and satisfying breast augmentation.

If you’d like to discuss your options for a breast augmentation, including the possibility of fat grafting, please schedule a consultation at www.davinciplastic.com.

Monsplasty – for the V Zone

Pubic Lift and “V Zone” Rejuvenation
Women no longer need to live with the discomfort and debilitation of their self esteem due to a less than satisfactory genital area. I offer a high level of sensitivity to the nature of this procedure, as well as the surgical experience to achieve desired Pubic and “V Zone” rejuvenation.
One of the fastest growing surgeries for women is the Pubic Lift, or Monsplasty, to smooth out the Mons Pubis area. The Mons Pubis often bulges with extra skin and fat after weight gain, childbirth or normal aging. This year more buzz has been created around this procedure for it’s ability to add comfort, appealing body contour, and possibly sexual enhancement by lifting and flattening the Mons Pubis area.

What is the Mons Pubis? This is a protective padded mound over the pubic bone, which segments to create outer labia. The fatty tissue typically develops with the onset of puberty, but usually increases in size due to weight gain and childbirth. It can bulge and sag to become more pronounced, which can interfere with how clothes, bathing suits and underwear fit, as well as impede urination stream and sexual intercourse.
What is Monsplasty? Also known as the Pubic Lift, the surgical procedure reduces and tightens the mons pubis area. Monsplasty reduces sagging skin and creates a tighter appearance by connecting the remaining muscle and tissue together. This is done through an incision below the bikini line through which excess fat and sagging skin will be sculpted and tightened, while also lifting underlying muscle and tissue to accomplish a smaller, more natural looking Mons Pubis.

What about the “V Zone”? Another surgery to rejuvenate a woman’s genitalia is Labiaplasty. Like Monsplasty, this surgery can be performed for both cosmetic and functional reasons. The labia are affected by childbirth, weight fluctuation, genetics and ageing. Elongated or large, irregular labia can cause discomfort, painful sexual relations and traps extra moisture that can lead to yeast infections.
They can also be a point of embarrassment, increased self consciousness and poor self esteem. The psychological and physical effects of enlarged labia not only come from how women feel about being in the nude, but enlarged labia can even impede many women from wearing and enjoying swim suits, shorts, workout clothes, leotards or snug fitting jeans.

Lower Abdomen and “V Zone” Rejuvenation… Monsplasty is often performed in combination with Tummy Tuck and Body Lift to achieve maximum satisfaction of the lower abdomen area. It can also be performed at the same time as Labiaplasty and Vaginaplasty to rejuvenate the entire female genitalia area. In the hands of a skilled surgeon like myself, these surgeries can improve appearance and restore normal function of the most intimate areas of the body.
Given the sensitive nature of desiring and needing Monsplasty and Labiaplasty, I believe that devoting time into the consultation is critical to overall satisfaction with the process of rejuvenating the Mons Pubis and Labia. Investing in the relationship facilitates a comfortable environment to discuss the private nature of this surgery with ease. To set up your consultation, visit www.davinciplastic.com.

The initial consultation with your surgeon is critical! It should always be face to face with your surgeon during which time he/she listens closely to your concerns. Dr. Davison believes this time spent with you is critical to both you and to him. It is during the consultation that he comes to fully understand your concerns, evaluates them correctly and is then able to make the recommendations and develop the treatment plan thats right for you. Dr. Davison invests the time to sit down and talk to you face-to-face.
